butter into the restaurant–for the lobster tails.
T, on the couch watching basketball: “You wanna go to a free five-course meal? We have to be there in 35 minutes.”
Me, unpacking groceries for the planned bean-n-cheese enchiladas. “Sure?”
And so we hustled to Arden Fair Mall and joined our friends at Seasons 52, jointly gasping at this beautiful restaurant that seemingly appeared out of nowhere. (Apparently we are not frequent mall-goers since it’s been around for a year or two.)
Residing in the remnants of the old Fresh Choice salad bar, Seasons 52, as the name implies, offers fresh, seasonal dishes with inventive flavor combinations and textures.
We sampled from a five-course feast, my favorite tastes being the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli and the Kona-crusted Lamb T-bone Chops. T absolutely adored the organic cedar plank salmon.

We enjoyed the chef’s table, located a stone’s throw from the kitchen and grill. I loved watching the low key kitchen dramas… the black shirted servers slopping soup into bowls as quickly as possible, the “new guy” artfully crafting flat breads, the suited manager yapping at the white-jacketed chefs over “his proteins!”
In addition to dinner and exemplary service from our waiter, the head chef, and a sommelier, we had a pleasant tour of the restaurant including the kitchen, wine cellar, bar, patio and private rooms.
During our three hour visit, I completely forgot we were at a mall. I look forward to visiting again some time soon.
